The roots of MKT goes back to 1920 when the company Maanviljelykonetehdas Oy (=Workshop for Agricultural Machinery) was founded.

In the 1960´s the first cheese making equipment was supplied.The Cheese Making Equipment business grew hand in hand with the need for mechanisation of cheese making procedures due to a growing demand for larger quantities of cheese. Thus, it was not by chance that the first partially automatic cheese line operations were introduced already as early as in the 1980´s . These were to be followed by numerous new approaches in design and procedures to meet the demands of accuracy and volume to limit manpower to "one man plants".

The business has been owned and managed by a number of different companies during the past decades, but the key employees have stayed together and remained true to the original vision of carrying on the Finnish tradition in providing advanced cheese making equipment. This has enabled the continued availability and successful MKT branded cheese making equipment made in Finland.
